One of our coalition goals is to offer and promote training and education on suicide prevention. QPR training is available to groups in the Billings and surrounding area at no cost to participants.
What is QPR?
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer and is a nationally recognized form of suicide prevention training. Just as people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a potential suicide crisis, how to engage with the person, and what to do. QPR classes are 60-90 minutes in length.
Who is QPR for?
Anyone can benefit from being QPR trained and helping those around them. This training is ideal for coaches, teachers, ministers, and others who interact with people on a regular basis.
How much does it cost?
The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Yellowstone Valley offer training at no cost to participants.
